Troubleshooting
Fixes for the issues that come up most.
Quick fixes for the most common issues.
The launcher hotkey doesn't work
Another app owns the combo. Open Settings → Quick Launch, click the hotkey field, and press a different shortcut. Good alternatives that rarely conflict: ⌥ ⇧ Space, Ctrl ⇧ Space, ⌥ Space.
The app isn't running. Check the tray / menu bar for the QuickPeach icon. If it's not there, relaunch the app.
On Windows: some combos are reserved by the OS. The hotkey recorder tells you if you pick one — just try another.
The app didn't open after signing in on the website
After you sign in, the browser tries to hand the session back to the app automatically. If nothing happens:
- Look at the browser page — there's a one-time sign-in code in a box.
- Copy it.
- In the app (Settings → Account), click Paste a sign-in code instead and paste.
This always works, even on machines where the automatic hand-off doesn't fire.
The sign-in code says it's expired
Sign-in codes expire after a few minutes. Click Start a new sign-in on the browser page to get a fresh one.
A note conflict appeared
Two devices edited the same note before syncing. This is safe — nothing was lost.
Open the conflict reviewer from the prompt. You'll see both versions and can choose which to keep. The other version is saved as a conflict copy until you dismiss it.
Sync isn't working
- Check your internet connection.
- Go to Settings → Account and try Sync now. The status line shows what happened.
- If the status shows an auth error, sign out and back in.
- If sync still doesn't complete, build a diagnostic bundle (Settings → Diagnostics → Build bundle) and include it with a bug report.
A note I edited in another app isn't updating
QuickPeach watches the notes folder for changes. If an update isn't appearing:
- Make sure the editor actually saved the file.
- Check that Settings → Storage points at the same folder where you edited the file.
- Quit and relaunch QuickPeach to force a full reload.
An update won't install
Go to Settings → Updates and click Check for updates. If you're on the early-access channel and hit a bad build, you can switch back to Stable there.
I've lost my recovery phrase
Your local notes are unaffected — they're plain files on your machine, no encryption involved.
If you still have an active session on any device: go to Settings → Security → Recovery phrase and view it now. Then export a recovery bundle and store it somewhere safe.
If you're fully signed out and have no phrase: encrypted synced data cannot be recovered. This is the trade-off of end-to-end encryption. Local files are always accessible.
Something else is wrong
Build a diagnostic bundle at Settings → Diagnostics → Build bundle and include it when you report the issue. Bundles are scrubbed of sensitive data before they're written, and they give us the context to fix things faster.
