Launcher & search

Summon the launcher, search everything at once, and act with the keyboard.

The launcher is the front door to QuickPeach. Summon it, type, act.

Open it

Press ⌥ ⇧ Space (Option + Shift + Space) on macOS, or Ctrl ⇧ Space on Windows / Linux, from any application. The launcher appears centered and focused, ready for input. Press the same shortcut again — or Esc — to dismiss it.

The hotkey is rebindable in Settings → Quick Launch if it clashes with something else. The default stays clear of Spotlight (⌘ Space) and Alfred (⌥ Space) on macOS, and of the OS-reserved Alt + Space window menu on Windows.

Search everything at once

Start typing and the launcher searches across, in one ranked list:

  • Commands — open Dashboard, Notes, or Settings; create a note; run any built-in action.
  • Applications — every app installed on your machine. Type a few letters (vsc, arc, fig) to launch the match fast.
  • Notes — your recent and matching sticky notes, by title and content.
  • Utilities — clipboard history, timer, color picker, file search, and the extension store. See Utilities.
  • Plugin commands — anything contributed by an installed extension. See Plugins.

Scope your search with @

Start a query with @ to point the launcher at one place instead of everything. Type just @ to see the full list; keep typing to filter. For example, @file budget searches your files for "budget", and @calc 100 usd to thb converts currency on the spot.

TypeWhat it searchesAlso accepts

The scope sets where the launcher looks; everything after the space is your query. Clear the @ to go back to searching everything at once.

Make a note from your query

If what you typed doesn't match an existing result, press Enter and QuickPeach drafts a new sticky note seeded with that text. It's the fastest way to capture a thought: hotkey, type, Enter, keep moving. See Notes.

The quick-action menu

⌘ K (or Ctrl K) on a highlighted result opens its quick actions — the secondary things you can do with it (open in a note, reveal in Finder/Explorer for a file, copy, and so on). The available actions depend on what kind of result is selected.

Tips

  • The launcher auto-hides when it loses focus, so it never sits in your way.
  • Results are ranked by relevance and recency — the apps and notes you use most surface first.
  • A global new note shortcut, ⌘ ⇧ N / Ctrl ⇧ N, skips the launcher entirely and drops a blank sticky note on your desktop.
